Overview

This policy explains how information is handled when you visit ModoNook. You can read our articles without creating an account or submitting personal information.

Information collected

Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as your IP address, requested pages, request times, and browser information. This information may be used to handle requests and prevent abuse.

We do not currently offer visitor accounts or a contact form. Newsletter sign-ups are closed, and the disabled subscription form does not submit or collect email addresses. We do not maintain a visitor profile or personal-information database.

Search

Search runs in your browser using an article index downloaded from this website. The words you enter are used to match articles on your device; they are not sent to a search service or included in the index request. Browsing articles and downloading the index still involve ordinary requests to our hosting infrastructure.

Cookies and browser storage

ModoNook does not currently set analytics, advertising, or behavioral-tracking cookies directly. Our website code does not store visitor information in localStorage or sessionStorage.

If you follow a link to another website, that service may use cookies or collect information under its own privacy policy.

Analytics and advertising

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views and website performance. A script loaded from Cloudflare sends usage and performance information to Cloudflare, such as page addresses, referring sites, browser and device information, and page-load timings. We use these metrics to understand readership and improve site performance.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or browser storage to identify visitors and does not track people across websites. Read about Cloudflare Web Analytics and its privacy policy for more information. No third-party display advertising is currently enabled.

Affiliate links

There are currently no affiliate purchase links on ModoNook, and Amazon Associates is not enabled. If affiliate links are added, the relevant content will identify them. Read our affiliate disclosure for more information about product recommendations.

Links to other websites

Articles may link to external websites. The Save to Pinterest button opens Pinterest and passes the article URL, image URL, and description to its sharing page. It does not load a Pinterest widget or tracking script while you read an article.

External websites handle information under their own policies. ModoNook is not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.

Data sharing and retention

ModoNook does not sell visitor personal information. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process the technical information needed to operate and secure the website. Cloudflare processes the analytics information described above.

We do not directly maintain visitor accounts or a personal-data database. Infrastructure logs are managed according to the service providers' settings and practices; this policy does not specify a fixed retention period for those logs. Cloudflare manages analytics data according to its service practices.

Security

The website uses HTTPS to encrypt information in transit between your browser and the site. No method of internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children and international visitors

ModoNook is a general-interest publication. It has no account, contact-form, or active subscription features for collecting personal information from visitors, including children.

The website is accessible internationally. Technical request information may be processed in the locations where our hosting and infrastructure providers operate.

We may update this policy as the website changes. The date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.
